March Field Wing Ding

Wing Ding: a wild, lively, or lavish party.

Born at March Field in the months before the Second World War,  the “Wing Ding” was the brainchild of  legendary aviator General Henry “ Hap” Arnold.

Hap, short for Happy, knew how to have a good time, he created the fun event to raise morale and bring the base and community together.

Come join us for an evening of casual fun, period music, 1940s costume contests, drink and sampling of food from local restaurants and caterers as we bring the “Wing Ding” back to Match Field !
