Exhibit Hall

Consisting of a main exhibit space and 23 climate-controlled cases, the museum's main Exhibit Hall features a rotating selection of portraits of significant aviation pioneers from the world-renowned Thompson Aviation Art Collection. Within the individual display cases, are artifacts and interpretive information on aviation related subjects ranging from painted A-2 Flight Jackets and the evolution of Flight Helmets; early aviation history; the Great War through World War II; the Korean Conflict; the Cold War; Vietnam; the Gulf War, Iraq and Afghanistan. Special displays include Combat Camera, Prisoners of War, Women in Aviation, Bob Hope and the USO, Camp Haan and Air Navigation.


A variety of both permanent and rotating exhibits and displays are located within the Main and Educational Hangars and Yeager Family Library. Subjects range from the Tuskegee Airmen to USAF Para-rescue, Security Forces, Medical support operations and the Royal Air Force in World
War Two. Featured within the Yeager Family Library, the MFAM is proud to present the Henry Wedaa Special Exhibit and Aviation Poster Collection consisting of an extensive aviation themed poster grouping as well as artifacts and personal items from noted Southern Californian and World War Two USAAF veteran Henry Wedaa.
