Today's activities are part of a larger series of events in the immediate region commemorating Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day.
On Saturday, March 25, the Inland Empire Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 47 and Allied Veteran Groups are proudly presenting the 2017 Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Motorcycle Ride and Patriotic Ceremony at Riverside National Cemetery. The motorcycle ride begins at American Legion Post 79 at Fairmount Park, 2979 Dexter Avenue in Riverside (951-788-8635), with registration from 7:30-9 a.m. and the ride itself commencing at 9 a.m. From 10 to 11 a.m., a Patriotic Ceremony will be held at the Ampitheater at Riverside National Cemetery (just across I-215 from the Museum on Van Buren Boulevard). Admission is Free to the ceremony.
After the ceremony, Vietnam Veterans and their families, and all other Veterans and their families, are invited to the March Field Air Museum for fellowship and refreshments. Admission is free for Veterans and their families. The sharing continues there until 4 p.m., when the museum closes. Afterwards, everyone is invited to American Legion Post 79 at Fairmount Park.
