Project to repaint the B-47    The photo below shows a photo of the museum's B-47 taken in 2000.  Since then, we have added outboard engines and are currently in process of repainting the aircraft.   The museum plans to paint the B-47 like it looked when it was assigned to the 22nd Bombardment Wing at March Air Force Base in 1957.   The aircraft is on loan from the U.S. Air Force.   (Photo above taken on 26January 2000)   The photo below shows a photo of the museum's B-47 taken in 2009.  Paint has been removed and the outboard engine is in place.  (Photo above taken on 23 November 2009)  Below, new paint has been applied to the outboard engine on the starboard side.  (Photo above taken on 23 November 2009)  Below, another view of new paint on the outboard engines on the starboard side.  (Photo above taken on 23 November 2009)    Return To  Top
